Enterprise storage for dedicated servers

By ColossusCloud's Team January 29, 2026

Storage you can trust

When renting a dedicated server, storage is entirely yours. No shared disks, no noisy neighbors, just raw performance from drives selected specifically for data center workloads.

We don’t use consumer-grade drives or cut storage hardware costs. Every drive in our dedicated servers is enterprise or data center grade, designed for 24/7 operation under heavy loads.

Samsung enterprise and data center SSDs

For SSD storage, we exclusively use Samsung enterprise and data center class drives. These aren’t laptop or desktop SSDs. Samsung’s enterprise drives are built for:

  • Continuous 24/7 operation without performance degradation
  • High endurance measured in drive writes per day (DWPD)
  • Power loss protection preventing data corruption during unexpected shutdowns
  • Consistent latency even under heavy mixed workloads

Samsung leads the enterprise SSD market, powering mission-critical workloads at companies worldwide. That’s the quality behind your dedicated server.

Seagate Exos for high-capacity storage

When raw capacity matters more than speed, we use Seagate Exos hard drives.

Exos is Seagate’s enterprise hard drive line, designed for data center environments:

  • High capacity options for large datasets, backups, or archives
  • Enterprise reliability with vibration tolerance and workload ratings
  • Always-on operation in rack-mounted servers

When applications need terabytes of storage (media files, backups, databases, archives), Exos drives deliver capacity without sacrificing enterprise reliability.

LSI MegaRAID for RAID and scalability

Storage is only as reliable as the controller managing it. We use LSI MegaRAID cards for RAID capabilities and drive management.

LSI MegaRAID controllers are the industry standard for enterprise storage:

  • Support for up to 48 drives per server for massive storage arrays
  • Hardware RAID including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and more
  • Battery-backed cache protecting data during power events
  • Hot spare support for automatic drive failover

Whether needing simple two-drive mirrors or 48-drive storage arrays, LSI MegaRAID controllers provide reliability and flexibility.
